If you’re looking for a new gaming chair, it’s easy to become disheartened. All of the most popular chairs are either too crazy looking or way too expensive. There’s no need to panic, though. What if we told you there was an affordable chair out there that’s comfortable and discreet, too?
Of course, we’re talking about the Furmax gaming chair. It has risen in popularity thanks to its incredibly affordable price. It retails for around $50 – unbelievably, that’s hundreds of dollars cheaper than some of its rivals. But don’t you get what you pay for?
Well, that’s what we’re here to find out!
Let’s be honest – the Furmax chair doesn’t come with all the bells and whistles that a more expensive chair would. For instance, the armrests aren’t adjustable (although they can be removed if you choose), and there aren’t as many color options to choose from. Despite this, we still think it’s worth buying and we’ll explain why below.
Firstly, it’s comfortable to use for long periods of time. This is, in part, due to its combination of PU leather and mesh upholstery. The faux leather looks great and is easy to clean, while the mesh improves airflow and reduces the amount you’ll sweat during those long gaming sessions.
Further, the casters are a higher quality than you might expect. They’re coated with PU rubber. This means that they won’t leave marks on hard flooring while remaining entirely functional on carpet. There’s no need to pay extra for surface-specific wheels – they just work regardless.
The seat height can be adjusted, of course (15.75” at its lowest, 19.69” at its highest), and there’s a tilt feature that allows you to recline up to 30°. This can’t be locked, though, so if you were planning to nap in this chair, it’s not going to cut it. Now, let’s talk aesthetics.
This chair has a fairly interesting design. It takes the best parts of a traditional office chair (ease of use, comfort) and combines them with the best parts of a racing-style chair (better back support, designed for extended use). It comes in black, blue, or red, too so you can choose whichever complements your décor best.
Now, for a product with such a low price tag, it’s obvious that there are going to be some compromises. The first of these is the slightly lower weight limit. The Furmax chair can support up to 280lbs instead of the standard (for large chairs) 300. Most people will be able to use this chair, though, so that’s not a huge deal.
There’s also some assembly required. Don’t worry! This only takes ten minutes or so and all the tools you’ll need are included in the box. Plus, if anything arrives broken, you can make use of Furmax’ 30-day money back guarantee. There’s even a six-month warranty in case of any manufacturing faults.
All in all, the Furmax gaming chair is a comfortable, cost-effective chair for those of us setting up home offices or gaming rooms. Sure, it might not have all the features you want, but at the very least, it’s a strong choice for in the short term.
Furmax Gaming Chair Review
- Overall - 7.5/107.5/10
The Furmax gaming chair tries to provide the best possible experience on the lowest possible budget. It’s good enough for those getting into the world of PC gaming but hardcore fans will probably want something a little more customizable.
